Frequently Asked Questions
Contact us today for a consultation! Our attorneys would like the chance to get to meet you and evaluate your individual legal situation.
There is no good way to know if you need an attorney without talking with a qualified professional. Qualification comes down to being licensed and knowledgeable and experienced in the area of the law you need help with. The attorneys of the Southern Illinois Law Center, LLC. use attorney consultations to provide potential clients with insight into their legal situation.
It depends. Like other attorneys, we do not charge consultation fees for personal injury cases. We charge consultation fees for every other area of the law. Consultations are charged on the basis of time with a half hour minimum.
Our attorneys provide representation in Family Law, Criminal Defense, Personal Injury & Workmens’ Compensation, Landlord’s Rights, Business Law, and Wills, Trusts, and Estates. We also provide services in the areas of Contracts, Real Estate, and General Civil litigation.
You can expect to be given the time to adequately explain why you think you may need legal representation and to be provided with a general explanation of the legal issues involved. If we believe that it would be to your advantage to retain us as your attorneys then we will layout a road map for the representation together with a retainer arrangement and quote an initial retainer fee. If you do not hire us then you will have received valuable information about your legal situation including any applicable statute of limitations.
We use a variety of retainer arrangements to provide economical legal representation to our clients. For example, most criminal defense cases are handled with flat fees. However, you would have to talk to an attorney to receive a proposal based on the facts and law applicable to your specific situation. We do accept credit cards in addition to other forms of payment.
